about

Greetings!
My name is Chris Mizun. I got a camera from my father when I turned 13. Right away, I set up an ad-hoc black & white lab in our second bathroom where I spent countless magical hours. During college in New York, I interned at a commercial portrait studio where I was later offered a full-time position. I learned many ways to make people feel comfortable in front of the camera and all the ways to make a photograph as technically perfect as possible.
Once, there was a wedding in the studio and I stuck around to take photographs. I had a great time and the couple loved the pictures. Through them, I got my first recommendations and started shooting weddings and other joyous occasions. I love the idea that I can still use the knowledge I acquired shooting portraits and, in addition, use the instincts, which come in useful in the fast-paced environment of an event. From day one, I was pretty good at spotting tiny details while never forgetting about the whole picture. I am still as obsessed with photography as I was in the first weeks of dabbling in my dark room, but the years of experience have added considerably to my toolset.
Most importantly, I am still doing this for the love of it.
